Why is the frankenstein novel written by mary shelley still so famous today? and what are the moral messages?

It really has nothing to do with the critics that kept the novel alive. In fact, if anything, when it came out they viewed it the same way the towns people viewed the Monster: something that needed to be dead. It was the popularity among readers the most likely kept it alive. It's considered to be the first book in the mad scientist genre.
