I have a 2004 nissan altima 4 cyl and i changed the oil and filter and the air filter and a day or so later?

the check engine light came on and at one time it would not crank. but know it cranks after i took the neg. cable off and back on but the light came back on again and is still cranking. anyone know what this problem could be.Thanks for the help.
