Who was the Alamo for?The Texans or the Mexicans?

both mexico said we can have americans live in texas but they have to become christan and stuff . We did not litsen to mexico so they tried to kick us out but we did not want to leave. so there were wars all over texas between mexico and texans but the alamo was just famous one.
